If buying a property is all about, 'location location location' then the same could be applied to finding the right venue for a special event such as a meeting or a wedding. For people who must travel any distance to attend, the venue should be accessible and well connected to the main transport networks. It should also be well served in accommodation, facilities and amenities. In these respects Milton Keynes could have been made for hosting events and there are Milton Keynes venues more than suitable for any purpose.

Considering location on its own, Milton Keynes is situated in north Buckinghamshire and people travelling from Birmingham, from London, from Leicester or from Oxford or Cambridge will all travel the same distance to get there. They can arrive by rail to any one of five train stations, by road via the M1, and by air to London Luton or Birmingham International, both of which are connected to the town by frequent train services. Milton Keynes venues will not be difficult to get to and the grid road design of the town, rather than a traditional radial street plan, means they will be easier to find when you get there.
These important criteria as relates to the town are no fortunate accident of course but are designed and built into what is a highly successful example of modern social engineering. Milton Keynes is not the only New Town but it is the blueprint for how well the concept can work.

New towns often have an image problem, largely due to the perceived lack of cultural expression and visually similar styles of modern architecture, with little focus, amenity or open green spaces. Not so in Milton Keynes, which has flourishing arts and music scenes, major sporting and leisure facilities, 125 miles of foot and cycle paths and over 20 million trees which grace its parks, canal banks, and other green spaces. Milton Keynes venues then cannot be typified by any one style and function and are generally multi-purpose and dynamic event spaces.

Hotels are a particularly rich source for good event spaces and since many of the hotels will be modern, they will be designed with business meetings in mind. What this means for organising a meeting or event is a choice of spaces to suit the style and size of the event, the latest audio and visual technologies for the job, and packages which comprise all essential hospitality for guests and delegates. Guest rooms within the hotels will be similarly well appointed for comfort, work and leisure. Internet connectivity will certainly be a feature since the entire town centre is a Wi-Fi hot zone.
For those who simply cannot do without some significant history, the original towns, charming villages and hamlets which formed the starting point for the new town are still there, including the original Milton Keynes Village which has a charming local thatched pub. A popular local attraction is Bletchley Park, where the German Enigma code was cracked during WWII and there are many further sites of historical interest throughout the town and some historical buildings which show a different side to Milton Keynes venues.

There is no limit to the size or scope of event held in the town. The National Bowl can accommodate up to 65,000 people for major concerts and other large scale events and there are multiple performance spaces within the 1400 capacity Milton Keynes Theatre. There are many other Milton Keynes venues which cater for the huge demand for live music in the town and many pubs, clubs and restaurants have their own private function suites which can be hired for private parties, weddings and other special events.
